In response to new developments in motoring and the rapidly increasing shift to the use of electric vehicles, MINETTA Insurance has announced the creation of specialised MINETTA electrify plans for purely electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
The 4 MINETTA electrify packages are as follows:
Package 1: basic coverage and covers in addition to those required by law
Package 2: additional covers for fire and natural phenomena
Package 3: additional covers for theft
Package 4: comprehensive mixed
Note that, in addition to the complete range of covers included in all the company’s vehicle policies, the MINETTA electrify schemes also offer several covers that apply only to electric vehicles. The result is a comprehensive line of products which are not just renamed existing plans for conventional vehicles, but safeguard owners of electric vehicles – depending on the terms of the plan – as well as in relation to:
- Liability while charging the vehicle
- Personal accident of the driver while charging
- Theft of charging cables
- Rental of batteries or replacement vehicle
- Material damages occurring during charging (to the cables or vehicle itself)
The MINETTA electrify programs can insure passenger vehicles and taxis, while the company aims to enhance its offerings to electric vehicle owners with additional benefits and covers.
