Electromobility at the heart of Interamerican’s Roadside Assistance

The major turn towards electric vehicles as part of the effort to make transport greener has influenced and created new needs in infrastructure and services relative to motoring.

Electromobility is the future of transport and driving, which is why Interamerican Assistance is incorporating it in its business and breaking new ground once again by including electric bicycles in its fleet for providing on-site assistance to its customers.

Meanwhile, the company is taking note of the ever-growing number of electric vehicles and has invested in training its professional drivers. Specifically, this past June, 120 Roadside Assistance drivers all over Greece and 15 professionals from the CARPOINT model car compensation and repair unit attended an individualised seminar with theoretical and practical training at the Institute for Continuing Education in the Automotive Business (IDEEA). The aim was to train participants in the management and provision of roadside assistance services to electric and hybrid vehicles with safety for both customers and their vehicles and for the professional drivers working in Roadside Assistance.

Giorgos Valais, General Manager for Interamerican Assistance, said: “For Interamerican Assistance, providing service and ensuring customer safety on the road with top-level services is an absolute priority. That’s why we continually invest – and this is demonstrated by an active investment plan valued at €5 million – in specially trained personnel, renewal and expansion of our own fleet, providing a broad network of partnered repair shops, as well as in modern practices and technologies that respond to new needs as they emerge in the field of roadside assistance.”
