‘Managed Care Plan’ from Interamerican

Insurance options for group plans were a boon to Interamerican in 2020, as it retained major companies on its customer list and added new ones that trust in the company’s prestige, reliability and far-reaching expertise in the sector.

Last year, the company introduced new, innovative group insurance plans for life and health. The “Managed Care Plan” (MCP) schemes provide coordinated and comprehensive health management for every employee of a subscriber company, with services centred around Interamerican’s privately owned infrastructure: the Athinaiki Mediclinic general hospital and the two Medifirst medical centres, in combination with other hospitals and primary healthcare networks.

Additionally, the new plans make a significant contribution to lowering the cost of insurance; they are sustainable while maintaining a high level of benefits and services for the insured. The group MCPs have already gained appeal with businesses which are interested in offering their employees insurance coverage. They are also the preferred choice with brokers. The company has been highly successful in group life, health and pension insurance in recent years, and currently has about 1,000 corporate customers from a wide range of business sectors.

It is also noteworthy that despite the pandemic and difficulties that companies face, their interest in taking out or maintaining an insurance policy for their staff remained high. Employer-provided health insurance is consistently believed to be the most important, according to survey data, as it counterbalances possible losses employees have experienced because of adverse economic conditions and developments.

A recent satisfaction survey conducted amongst corporate clients with Interamerican group policies showed a satisfaction rating of 87.5%, while the Net Promoter Score (NPS), which mainly reflects inclination to recommend the company to others, comes to 49.7%. In 2020, the company paid €22 million in 103,714 claims for employees covered by group life, health and non-life insurance policies, which were the majority (€14.1 million/85,634 claims), as well as for Medisystem health policies and pension plans.

Giorgos Plomaritis, Interamerican’s Group Business Manager, commented: “The company’s group insurance plans have become known on the market as a reliable choice. Specifically, the new ‘Managed Care Plan’ is more attractive. For example, within a short time of its launch, the employees of 50 large and medium-sized enterprises are covered by the new programme. The qualitative difference is due to management’s commitment to generate value for stakeholders – employers and employees – of the business community.”
