According to data released by the Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies, premium turnover increased for the period January-September 2021 for both the life and non-life insurance sectors.
Specifically, life insurance saw a 14.4% increase, with investment-linked products continuing their impressive growth at +66.4% and group pension plans noting a 6.2% upswing.
Non-life insurance saw a 5.1% increase, with illness coverage up +12.4%, land vehicle insurance up +3.5% and general third-party liability at +21.6%. Land vehicle liability insurance continued to drop, by -1.9%, as did the fire sector, which, after a temporary increase in August, saw a -0.5% decrease for the 9-month period and -2.7% for September.
The following tables present the detailed premium turnover survey results in accordance with international practices by insurance sector (life and non-life) for the period January-September 2021, as well as their change from the same period in 2020.
